    Grüzzi, Ripzalot !
Rax is a 10 km long plateau with 1000 m vertical drop on most flanks (covered with cliffs and trees).
Gradients varying between 40 and 90 degrees.
There is one cable railway and no groomed piste.
All that looks like the lower two sections of La Grave in France.

Crazy idea to ski the soft avalanche in front ? Never try with any other ski.

Rax ist the site of world’s first mountain rescue service,
launched in 1896 as a reaction on an avalanche catastrophe killing 3 skiers.
Ski grandfather Zdarsky organized first ski school and world’s first slalom 1905
    in Lilienfeld 40 km away.
In Ottohaus on the plateau, Sigmund Freud made first investigations supporting his theory.
Next airport 100 km: Vienna, Austria

This looks like it takes every ounce of fun out of skiing. Ok, I can straightline or carve and get shinbangs like never before, but leaning forward at high speeds, carving, and floating and turning in powder are actually highly enjoyable things. And leaning back is a very uncomfortable position, whether you're controlling your skis or not. Plus it must suck for the knees, lower back, and many other muscles and bones.

Good luck though, hopefully you'll find people who like it

Thought this looked kinda interesting at first, might be good for nasty tight north-faced springtime colouirs. But that video...

"Short turns in hard and steep conditions", I mean, come ON man !!
And that Rax mtn. Is that IT ?

Goatboy thinks our legs are being pulled here.

Thanks, Tmorry ! That's all I wanted to hear.

This thing, Tmorry, is real. Although many still hope
that it disapears like a bubble.

How can you say that ? You never tried this ski.
We have heard in this thread several stories about "Firngleiter" riders in Austria.
They all DO have fun while using our technique.

Are you really "leaning forward at high speeds in unknown powder" for longer time ? As high speed I understand 60 km/hr or more. Are you ? For a long time ? One minute or so ? Your ski tips deep under the snow ? In a steep terrain of 60 degrees ? Are you ?

    Depends on terrain, stuckathuntermtn.
Thousand powerful turns on very hard slope per day can stress your toenails.
The softer the snow and shorter the ski, the less troubled are your feet.

You can run long distances in Super GS-style and raise ski tips just for critical curves.

Rax models "Firn" and "Extreme Firn" carve permanently, no leaning back required.

And the future model "Glacier" has two gliding surfaces and needs minimum
    weight transfer between them.

This is an emergency call !

There are no Rax skis available to be distributed as now, just 14 prototypes.

We badly need a simple production site in the U.S!!!

This is an opportune time for an Obernhard-PMGear partnership.

    You're joking, leroy.
At the beginning we have created much of controversy.
The lord of destruction and creation, Shiva would be very pleased.

But stay on the positive side, this ski is more secure than others.

It's not snowlerblade meeting an erector set,
that's an agressive "firngleiter" enhanced by "erection" meaning diagonal setup or assembly.

These things look fucking dangerous, like they could cut someones leg off. What if the binding releases and they fly down the hill and hit someone? I'd be interested in seing them in action though, are there any vids of these ski (can't be bothered to look through the whole thread to find one.
