    TR- WTF is this bug?

This thing was crawling around in my house and I ahve no fucking clue what it is. Looks like a cross between a ant/grasshopper with a stripped abdomen.

    its pretty big

grasshopper nymph is my first guess but wondering if any bug-mags would know.

    Or get the raid!

My house was full of bees. Just had them eradicated the other day. I think if insects wanted, we'd all be dead.

Just call Truth, he will take care of it for you with his trusty 8 legged insect spray

BTW it is an insect, not a bug. All bugs (order Hemiptera), but not all insects are bugs. This sort of thing used to drive my entomology prof. nuts. (Not that anybody really cares.) That being said, when we were kids we called those potato bugs.

I agree it is a constitutional right for Americans to be assholes...its just too bad that so many take the opportunity...

    AKA Potato Bug in NorCal.

You can do the insect version of dog fighting with these things. Find two or more and put them in an old cookie container or similar. Watch as they rip each others limbs off. I was a fucked up kid. I also vaguely remember a multi species cage match I did with a couple of these, a big centepede, and a small scorpion.

When i was a kid we had large fire ant hills in our yard and the surrounds. I would take the can of raid and hold a lighter in front of it while I torched all those muthafuckas.
Please don't do this at home. At least, not near my home.

Be careful with that thing. They bite hard as hell - just look at the size of the mandibles. One took a small chunk of my pinky when I was about 8.

Those are sow bugs or pill bugs. They look way more like a sow or a pill than a potato. Yeesh, kids these days.

And harmless or not, I hope there aren't any of those in our house.
