Beartooth Pass Stokage-6/16/07
So I've been a member of the maggot community for about a year so far, and I've commited the worst sin against everyone, by not posting ANY stoke. None. So here are some pics from Saturday the 16th of June at the Gardner Headwall on Beartooth Pass.
I would call this a TR, but its way to shitty to be one.
Well, I am sixteen years old, (yeah, i know ) and I live and breathe skiing. Powder especially. Im not good with the whole spinny-jibby program. Anyway, I made a little mission that this year (to keep my sanity) I would ski atleast once every month.
My parents decided to help out. I had heard a ton of stories about them living in Red Lodge, blah blah blah, so my mother decided she would love to have a photo trip (she is a pro wildlife photographer) and that we could go to the pass for a great little ski trip. Cool.
So here goes....
What's that!? Why i look deformed-> I don't know.
Its snow! Me standing at the top. There is another guy behind me in shorts. He's 64 years old and a ripping skier.
The headwall. You can see me as a small spec.
Makin some turns. The turn kinda sucks. Oh well.
What's that ugly thing on my face!?! Me after i hiked out.
Good day. Very good day. Not the best stoke. Sorry.Last edited by FREESKIER_FIVE-0; 06-18-2007 at 07:23 AM. Reason: stupid date

Cool stoke, but I've gotta ask - why've you got the douche-rag on your face? Does it help you breathe easier while hiking?

The wind almost knocked me over and then started picking up dirt, young children, sleds (yeah, people had big sleds and body boards and one of those saucers almost took me out in a gust) but the dirt was feroucious. Thus the douche-rag steeze.
And if anyone is almost wanting to drive there, DO IT. It's amazing and the snow is great. It's 11,000 feet so its pretty chilly and skiing in the afternoon is good, no slush and it's still soft.

Thanks for the stoke, but I do have to ask one question
Call me old skool, but I have never understood the hankerchief over the face? Are you albino? Afraid of a litte sun? Related to Jesse James?

Welcome to Beartooth! The Gardner Headwall kicks ass for sure.
How good's the skiing further down to skier's right, away from the road? Yeah I saw that one cornice but how about the stuff further away?

Don't be so apologetic.
This is a real TR with some real stoke.
Looks like a lot of fun.
Keep going with the ski streak!

I hiked over and skied that a little bit, and it was good. ALOT less crowded then the Gardner Headwall. I think it was Rock Creek that is almost gone. If you have time I would try driving up the Rock Creek Road- I think that's what it was. Anyway, it looks really good.
