TR: Beartooth Pass
Spent the weekend doing the roadside hits on the Beartooth Pass. A couple of days, doing laps at rock creek headwall and gardiner headwall. Was a good weekend with tasty food, tasty beer, bumps in the backcountry, and a hula hoop girl.
Gearing up
Hiking across the plateau
The plateau ends, the skiing begins
Looking down from the top
Entrance
Getting a little bumped !
Looking back at Rock Creek headwall
Said hula hoop girl gyrating for us

On a somewhat differnt but related note......I have a buddy that wants to ski Gardner but has no avy gear or much avy training, would he be safe to ski that line? I have personally never seen Gardner slide in the late spring or early summer. Assuming we are off the snow early and no new snow has recently fallen, can I assume he would be safe to ski that slope?

The main line on Gardner was pretty bumped, must have seen a ton of traffic. I wouldn't be too worried about that stuff sliding, as long as its not super warm etc etc. I would ski it w/o beacon in current conditions.

Damn that snow went away fast. We went on Memorial Day, and skied all of the way to the RC with plenty of snow, but it was really warm. Love May goggle tans.

Looks like fun corn dog! Great to see some shots of Thomas. He sounded stoked today and I now better understand. Good stuff! BTW, I can't believe how thin the snow is for this time of year. Wow!
