Volant Chubb: real deal or guilty pleasure?
Looking to get some honest opinions on this.
My powder ski choice has always been the Volant Chubb. I bring only them when I travel west for about 15 days a year... I've had 3 pairs over the last dozen years so they're the only powder board I've ever skied and all I know. Other skis are Volkl 724 and Elan S12 for icy days here in the east...
Given the fact that I've never tried anything else I'd really like to know where they rank among all the brands. I keep coming back to them because they're so damn heavy and easy to blast through any condition that gets in my way. But are they too damp, too heavy, not quick enough??? Is there another ski that could make me stray from the easy comfort of the Chubbs?

love them or hate them, volants have their own feel.
if you like it call it stable, smooth, crudbusters
if you dont call it dead, unresponsive, and tanks.
volant chubbs have a cult like following (like raichles, explosives, old AK rockets etc)
try an stiff ski like an explosive, or stiff bro, etc
