dedicated D. Coombs flower/memorial thread
So, I am offering to head up a flower/gift collection for mags to show respects. If anyone has any more creative ideas of what we could do for Emily and the family, please post them here. I have asked if Splat could make some kid's skis, but that may be extravagant. Let's discuss, I can start a fund, paypal wendellstam@yahoo.com and we can figure out what we want to present. A memorial of some kind here in the Tetons is a must, but we can think smaller/ more personal. Ideas?

Maybe his family needs some assistance and we could donate to them directly?

i'm in for some $. i definitely vote for donating directly to the family - funerals are f-ing expensive and his wife and kid will need $, not an ice axe on top of a mountain somewhere.

Maybe the Bro thing is not appropriate, upon further reflection. I imagine the family will be skiing K2 for life! Other ideas, folks? Something...special....

Thanks, WW, for stepping in with your contribution. Others, please feel free to PM me if you have any questions. My wife is a CPA in Jackson (she does Exum's taxes) so we will set up a traking sheet for contributions that I can share. Let's see what we can do. Thanks, everyone.

I would pay a nice sum of $$$ to get that poster...."Upon this rock I build my church".....Anyway we can get that back to production or something and just charge extra for the fund?
Drive slow, homie.

I like the poster idea as well.
Maybe it could have something along the lines of: Doug Coombs 19__ to 2006.....added to the bottom."I don't feel tardy"

I think we should start up a TGR memorial fund to benefit his son. The poster idea would be a cool way to get funds together.

Dear rideit

I have the perfect spot in both my garage and my heart for such a poster.

Poster is a great idea. It will help raise money for David. I'm sure something along those lines will happen locally too.
