    Official holiday gifts received thread

In this family we open gifts on Christmas Eve. Just got a new transceiver to replace the old one, and Marmot spring gloves.

Christmas is all about giving, of course, but who says you can't have fun getting too.

$100 gift certificate to Sierra Trading Post. Far more than I wanted, fully exceeded my expectations. All I ever want is a good day's skiing with no crowds, which I hope to have.

The only thing I've recieved so far is a distrubing prank call at 1:45am this morning at work. I'm sure it will only get better from here on.

Well, there is a freash blanket of snow on the ground, and it's very quiet and peacefull up here in BCC. Pretty nice gift, thanks Ullr.

The GF bought us each 1 free jump out of a perfectly good airplane to be redeemed at a warmer date. Pretty cool huh? She actually went out and made a parachute and strapped in a GI Joe type doll complete with hand painted replicas of my tattoos and hung it in an extra bedroom in her house. she then wrapped a bow around the door and slapped a card on it. Fuckin great stuff!

I got a gift certificate for a beyond fleece soft shell, a snowlabs teeny tiny stove(its carrying box is about 3x1x1 inches, holy moly its small). A little camp espresso maker to go along with it, a Voile Pro D shovel, BD Gaiters, and penelton wool shirt. Oh, and some smartwool socks and a emergency blanket/bag.

Now, since I got a temp job working at the local hiking/camping store, I am loading up on gear at prodeal prices...BD Carbon Fiber telescoping poles(50 bucks) Arcteryx Theta AR shell(140 bucks) and Arcteryx Gamma MX soft shell pants(80 bucks), Osprey Switch 25+5 pack(60 bucks).

I must resist the temptation to buy some Freerides, Havocs, Ice tools, and ascension skins for now...

My family stepped it up BIG TIME this year. I've never been so shocked.

My older bro, who lives in florida, skis once a year if he's lucky, got me Focused and Mind the Addiction. I was shocked, the kid knows nothing about skiing. He said he found a webpage where a bunch of people were praising both of those movies...maybe he found his way here?

My dad got be a really nice soft shell jacket, also totally unexpected.

My mom got be all kinds of cool shit that moms get, namely multiple rolls of different color duct tape, tubs of popcorn, an air compressor, TGR shirt, and a talking tire pressure guage.

The girlfriend got me the "man with no name" Clint Eastwood western DVD boxset. It is the shit. I love those movies.

All in all one of the best xmas's in a while in terms of gifts recieved.

edit: and oh yeah, Ullr brought me a rain storm that melted away every last patch of snow, thanks alot, Ullr.

Cool Spyder Syn vest but, I might exchange it for jacket.
    Clothes und stuff
The total number of under the tree gifts was low this year due to my fathers double heart by-pass. Which had left us with little time to get away to do any shopping, but the best part of this Christmas is that we get to keep him around for a while longer. I have to admit this experience has given me a stronger feeling for family and friends than I’ve ever had in the past.
I hope that all of you have a wonderful and safe holiday season
    Living vicariously through myself…
