Anyone an SEO pro?

I'd like some help boosting my website. My current website provider/builder wants like $250/month to boost my SEO. Seems like a lot? Maybe I'm wrong though?

I assume any pro can boost any site or is my site's ability to be boosted in SEO somehow controlled by my site's host/builder?

That's a ton of money. Just add the meta tags yourself.
Google searches are getting to be pay-to-play so there's also that option.

Trying to get more views/clicks etc etc. Looks fairly straightforward to edit meta tags in the HTML of my website? That being said I can't find where to actually edit this in my homepage portal/backend. I'm guessing I screwed myself by having a site built by a company that actually blocks full editing access to the customer for this exact reason.

Not a pro, but from my involvement with our website, quality targeted content that is updated frequently is the most valuable thing you can do, followed by targeted social ads through Facebook, Google, etc. You could try some cross site linking with highly rated sites in addition to basic meta tags to promote your site ranking in google search.

FWIW, $250/mo is fucking cheap to work on website SEO.

Also, shoot Powtron a PM, he's really good at helping small businesses with that stuff, but you're probably going to have to pay a bit more.

I know dickall about SEO pricing, but let’s say you convert one or two additional clients per month, that must put you way ahead of the 250 outlay, no? Or further, if someone asked for 3k to bring you 12-24 new clients a year, would you balk at that?

Why? What do views and clicks get you?

I think what you want are leads, contacts and ultimately clients. Not being flippant, but I have this conversation quite often with orgs I work with and the answer often leads to a different strategy. Website views are likely a part of the process but be careful not to weight it too heavily.
