How many Snowbird Seven Summits passes?
I heard the Snowbird seven summits pass is now 31k a year! Does anyone know how many Seven Summits passes Snowbird sales each season? I see you can't even get on the wait list for a Seven Summits pass anymore, not that I have anywhere close to that kind of money to spend on a pass.

Eucalyptus steam room....fuck I need to get rich...and have connections! What's happenin in that lottery thread?!?!?!?!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

I'll take my beers in the parking lot and grill my apres meal on the tailgate. Although having a locker is an ultimate luxury.

I rode gadzoom a few weeks ago with a babe who is a breast surgeon (does mastectomies for women with breast cancer). She told me her and her husband moved to Utah 4 years ago and have been on the wait list since the day they moved here. Fuck all the amenities, being able to skip the tram line is the real benefit. If money is no worry that is as good as it gets. No idea about numbers but it does seem like there are less “black pass” side door peeps these days.

Man, I hate that skiing is continually being spearheaded to the rich.
I get it. I get the business models.
But the world wonders why the Japan bubble burst.
The US is teeing up its own burst.
Sad.

I skied with a guy that had one almost 30 years ago, so it’s not really new. I think it was $7K then.

As someone who’s never been but would like to go, in what ways has the ski bubble burst over there?
It’s definitely been around for a long time. IDK when it first started but when I moved here in ‘06 it was still ‘only’ $10k. I think that was the price until at least 2010 and then I stopped noticing.
There are many things I’d forgo if I had fuck you money but the black pass would be tempting. There's nothing better than sliding down snow, and flying through the air

We need more ski resorts/infrastructure. This kind of thing is only going to get worse.

For sure, skiing as we once knew it is endangered if not just over. Snowbird even has an obnoxious ‘fast tracks’ daily upgrade. For $60-80 it lets you cut lines on all chairs. At least they can’t cut the Tram line but prolly just a matter of time, and money. Lame.

I saw a guy wearing a Gold Medallion pass (or whatever it's called) at Aspen once.
I exclaimed:
"WOW, I didn't even think those existed!".

Seems like known parking, and likely close to the locker room, would be another major perk.

A neighbor has had one many years. This year, he gave it up because the price just about doubled. He said that he likes the locker room, sauna, steam, early access to goods (8:00), back door to tram, parking and child care, etc., but $30k+/yr priced him out of the market.

Mammoth has a similar program. I’ve seen some harsh heckling when they cut the line on a powder day.

Is this a new thing? It's not like skiing was traditionally the sport of inner city youth and is now becoming gentrified.
Seems to me like the problem with skiing these days is a lot of places are overcrowded. Which doesn't really indicate that the sport is confined to the super rich.

For 31k I'd probably rather spend it on 15 days with the Powderturds.........
