Well, I had the goal of catching a walleye on a streamer this spring. Currently batting .000, but I also suck. The early April storm and related power outages really hosed my fishing.

Upside of the job is I have to do any electrical maintenance at our hydro facility on the same river. Been seeing a bunch of these guys as of late.

    Nice brown!

Sadly I headed out the door today without my camera. Not surprising, given my lack of camera, I caught a beautiful 15" rainbow at the downtown spot, along with a footlong brown, and a couple small rainbows.

I headed home after a couple hours, grabbed my camera, and went to the confluence I often fish. I caught a feisty rainbow on a olive nymph, and a whitefish on a pheasant tail, and enjoyed some beautiful yet tempestuous Montana spring weather.

Still too early to target Musky, but open for catch-n-release smallmouth (a newly passed regulation that is awesome).

Water still cold, so zero fish at first, but as we floated downstream we monitored water temps and as we got closer to the flowage at the takeout we started to catch fish. We ended up with 1 pike and 3 smallmouths in the boat.

    Fun day on the water.

No pics because photo uploader blows goats.

Non-mag Brandon is funny as hell, great guy in a boat. This new regulation allowing year round catch & release smallmouth is awesome. Good job Wisconsin.

    Looking forward to it!

I think lifelinksplit is planning on visiting the island sometime this summer too.

So many lakes and rivers around here, all of them with excellent fishing. Yeah, I miss the skiing at Big Sky but the fishing here more than makes up for it. I’ve got a pretty nice life.

Good to see everyone getting after it. Was feeling sorry for myself having missed 4/20 at Boblandia so rallied for a n early morning run to Boblandia followed by a late night run home. Exactly what my soul needed. Gonna make the annual run to the keys to chase the mythical silver king in a few days. Hope to add to the stoke upon my return.

I'm still trying to make a trip back home-ish work. I had a great day on that river near Melrose today. No big boys but tons of steamer action and a bit of top action as well as the dirty bobber fishing.. only 3 boats so that was nice.

glad to hear that section is producing. seems like it should be another year before the post-fungus growth starts to turn in some big boys more consistently. the numbers are so strong through there, just need a little more time for the river to figure things out.

any butteian deposit an 18' odyssey or some shit on the right side boulder channel yet? matter of time.

Lol. I have been poking around from wisdom to Dewey lately. The butte folk were starting the migration. We were quite happy with the amount of big fish chasing streamers. Glad they fixed the bridge as well.
