From the looks of the Bachy Pine Martin cam, they have been blowing some snow. I hear it's good for the base.

Mammy has a decent amount for the family, not as happening as Bend but you can do stuff like towing that ski trailer of yours on groomed trails along the lakes and below some rad touring terrain, ice skating when there is no new snow, and the town shuttle/gondola service is handy if you can trade/negotiate some hours of kid/partner free time to go bang out hot laps on Chair 23 while still leaving the vehicle with partner and kid. Not as sustained steep as LCC but much steeper than Flatchelor. Worth putting on the short list!

There's no date. It's still called Bachelor Butte Skie Area

SW area of that map is pretty open

    What year? I guess 1980

Good base, just need a foot plus to get things rolling. That's not too much to ask, right?

It’s the east side that looks particularly sparse. A wasteland east of Pilot Butte

I think the name was changed from butte to Mt. In 1983. But interloper would know, he’s been around since it last erupted…

That’s good information. I will consider it. I’m sure it’s a beautiful spot. I’ve spent little time north of there in the Sierra in the summer months. Might end up just doing a bachelor trip for a few days to escape and just ski. I got some friends in SLC so that would be the obvious answer.

You are correct, 1983. But us locals still refer to it as BB. And it's only been 15,000 yrs.

^^^^ Don't look at Sunday afternoons forecast. Looks like things could be spicy or the word that shall not be named...during winter.

Dude, congrats! That's some serious ice on the hand. Better there than on the slopes.

Thanks!! Yeah, he sure did put a big ol diamond ring on it. Great guy.

You know, we first met in a skiing discussion forum? Someone posted up, "Who is the nicest most beloved man on Newschoolers" and everyone started tagging him, so I slid in his DMs, obviously.

Temps start dropping Monday pm & stay low for awhile. I'll take anything right now. Congrats to the couple.
