Sucks that such an awesome line is being jaded by some petty bullshit.

I was blown away seeing you shoot it. I will be stoked to watch Travis hit it as well.

if it's untracked in totality it's as good as a 1st descent. clean slate.

    This.

I also didn't see you, or anyone else at MSP, or anyone anywhere except someone in your dolphin's asshole thread claim that this thing was a first descent. I only saw it claimed that it was a rad line, and you skied the shit out of it. Because it is and you did. Hopefully Rice slayed the shit out of it too in the way that line deserves.

It can't have been ridden faster than by Mr Townsend. So even if it was the second track down, most likely was the better run.

Clearly, Travis' crew should've put up a "Closed for the next 3 years" sign at the top after he rode it.

For me, Travis is a God, and I agree with Cody....I know everything is cool with them. They will make drama for the drama's gift......promotion.

Sick run, saw it on Facebook.....liked it, oh yeah!!

i don't think anybody is suggesting you back down if you suspect somebody else rode it. it's the presentation. i only read your first breakdown once but i was under the distinct impression that you hadn't been able to scout the whole thing so you didn't exactly know what you were going to find. if you "suspected" the knuckledragger rode it first, that augments the other information you had and at least you knew you could get all the way through barring some splatter against the walls breaking bones followed by a long ride.

it's cool to get a little inside view of how things are though. didn't really think about it but don't know why i would think it would be any different. i think townsend should find a gnarlier run that rice doesn't know about to make up for this "confusion."

If I might add to Cody's posts, Brainfarm likes to keep quiet about their footage until their teasers are released. If we talked about Travis hitting this line as well, that might have just pissed them off because we gave away one of their crown jewels of their movie. So, what do you do? Like others have mentioned, we never claimed it was a first descent, nor did we have any way of knowing that Travis put in a bunch of time working on the entrance. Who knows, that might have changed our approach. Funny thing is, we might have known that he put in that work had we had the same guides.

Well said. Unless you get paid to sell controversy, it doesn't matter if someone rode that line before. Cody slayed that bitch with major steeze - "Holee Fuck" is right - and brought back awesome.fuckin.video. So what's the issue again?

Madd Propz to Cody for some kick-ass skiing. Looking forward to seeing Rice and others with massive titanium balls rip that tube.

I agree with this. How exactly were they supposed to know? Brainfarm is doing a decent job of keeping any anger suppressed, guessing Cody flashing the line looks way more impressive than Rice (who slays, but is not as fast as Xavier). I love watching Brainfarm's work, but Art of Flight and TITA have not had impressive big mountain riding compared to MSP/TGR, just really good eye candy.

Also NDA's for a snowboard film, lulz.

In this still (in the sunny part) it looks like there are ~9 lines tracked out. Where are these from?

Also, can someone explain to me how in ~20 years of teams w choppers flying all around there how this line wasn't noticed before?! Either a) This terrain is sooo much bigger than I can imagine and the line was just never seen before or b) it was known but deemed unskiable or c) some badass guide skied it before not for a movie but just to be a badass.

Also here's my opinion - if it's bros in the mountain respecting the unwritten code of letting people own lines etc etc etc then cool, but if there are nda's then it seems like it's just like any other business, and waiting for 3 years to 'innovate' as a business seems like an odd choice. As an artist I get it but as a business it doesn't make sense, esp if there was concern it would be replicated enough that nda's were used (clearly a valid concern).
I should also add that I am fat and out of shape and not even a very good skier so take that into account when you read this.

Everyone knows that the line isn't completed until you have posted the go pro footage on the Internet. First descent goes to Cody

Just poking my head in to nominate this for "Stupid Post of the Decade".

Its very existence even disproves its own assertion.

Also, Cody killed it and MSP captured and published it first. Nothing else matters.

If the other guys were trying to "bring that line to market" first, or any other "innovation", a 3 year project is a doomed strategy for that from the start.

Guess that was where the NDAs came in.

Yeah but NDAs only apply to the people who sign them.
