Ray Donovan
Anyone watching this new series on Showtime?
The feel good comedy of the summer.
They tried touting it as The Sopranos in LA. It misses that mark by a mile, but it is still pretty good.
The show gives me an uneasy feeling, like when you watch someone about to get in an accident on the highway, and you know there is nothing you can do to stop it.
The acting is pretty good. Characters are interesting. It just feels like something is missing. Not sure what it is, maybe it is just the feeling like I have seen it before.
Mick Donovan is Father of the Year though.

Love it.
Getting better each episode.
Real undercurrent of 'oh oh'
Jon Voight is superb.
And as a 'fixer', the titular character is dispassionately dead on.

I don't know what you think it's missing...I think it's got it all!
I just can't stand the wife. I think she's a fucking dog. She does play her part well though...scrappy Southie broad.
Eagerly awaiting the season finale...

Season 2 has been better I think.
Hate the wife too. At least he bangs a lot of hot tail on the side.
My favorite scene this year was the birthday party. How much dysfunction can you squeeze into one party. Had a feeling it would be rough when they were rolling out enough booze for a nightclub opening, all for a 15 y/o's family birthday party.

Agreed...the birthday party was rock-bottom.
Hoping for a season 3...
