Skier death in Smuggler's Notch
Just learned my friend Alec Stall died skiing a chute in the notch yesterday. He was with the rest of the Meathead films crew skiing in "the ultimates"- deep past Hell Brook. I guess he skied a shot, got caught off balance and his sluff hit him, carrying him over several large icefalls and into some trees.
Alec excelled in every activity he entered into, and was a good friend to have. I looked up at him in my first years at UVM for his knowledge of the mountains around here. Just a reminder to myself and everyone else- take care. Keep his family and girlfriend in your thoughts. I hate to keep adding on top of the bad news we've had this season, but I thought I'd let this out.

So sorry. Losing friends is a terrible thing to bear.
Monty Python's version of the cougar phenomenon:
"This is a frightened city. Over these houses, over these streets hangs a pall of fear. Fear of a new kind of violence which is terrorizing the city. Yes, gangs of old ladies attacking defenseless, fit young men".

For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

Thanks. It's tough when I read a thread about someone having a sad incident- i think -well, i can type im sorry or something but i dont really know what to say, because I didn't know them. I guess what i mean is, you don't have to respond to this, I just hope you take a second to think positive thoughts to someone, anyone. Thanks for the support, and I'll let the other guys know the greater skiing community is with them. I'm gonna head out for the day, I feel like i'm in a shell, and to be honest it feels a little weird sharing thoughts on an online bulletin board right now. I still love this community, though.

Terrible news. Reminds me of what Theo was saying at the summit about small events potentially having big consequences.
All the best, mate.
