Damn. All season I told Byates I was gonna come down to schralp with him and all winter I've been too fucking busy. It's times like now I don't want to be an adult haha. The snow stake looks insane again. Get some!!

I got a half doz stellar laps after front row parking at 730, then bounced. Over the crowding.

This is why I prefer the midweek packed powder days over powder day skiing anymore. It's lost its value for me. With the thin SW skiing conditions we often have I like to let the hordes pack it in and uncover the hidden rocks and stumps anyways. I can confidently ski much faster and harder with it packed in honestly.

    Wow. SO FUCKING GOOD.

Another 5 overnight. Cold, things are skied in but not out. Wow. Still untracked everywhere.

And they have those trees EVERYWHERE. The glade skiing at Taos (when the coverage is "good") is world-class, IMO.

    Is $98 half?

Great hill! Glad you guy’s are getting it when it’s good.

What’s Alain up to now days?
He’s a good dude. I hope he and his wife are happy, but I’d probably get rid of the shop. Retail sucks.

Super stoked to see you're getting paid for returning to Taos. Fresh snow and nobody skiing is gonna be a rarity you'll not soon forget.

Another so good day. Full sun, race scene is rad.

Some ppl poached kachina this am, so patrol couldn't control, so not open. Huh.

    It's baked out anyway.

Hey kind of a long shot question here. Last year I was in the area for work around the end of April, and managed to squeeze a day tour in. Looking at lodging that time of year, it looks pretty reasonable in the ski valley. Although I realize last year was exceptional, what kind of snowpack could I expect at the end of April this year? Obviously the resort will be closed mostly looking at the upper end of the valley.

The snowpack up Lake Fork, Williams Lake to Lake Fork Peak and Sin Nombre should be excellent for spring skiing way into May this year. Maybe even on Kachina closer in at the ski area.

Sweet Thanks! I’m sure going to Taos and going full hermit and skiing for a long weekend isn’t good for me, but fuck it what is. There was enough eye candy from my short tour, that honestly I think O could keep myself busy without a guidebook, thanks for the rec though. Also I’ll post pics of I do end up going to keep the stoke alive
