I might add that I pulled what might now be commonly refered to as a "mntlion".
Halfway through the city on my way to Castle I got a call from my wife that I had left my wallet in the house.
Kinda hard to purchase gas and lift tickets without it I figured so I turned back.
Cost me a well over an hour as Glenmore and the rest of the city streets were a shit show.
Thankfully the lifts were delayed as I didn't get to Castle untill 11am when Red Chair opened.

Well Castle looked sick.... Need to clear my head, thinking of doing some mellow meadow skipping down in Waterton tomorrow. Rowe Bowl or Forum Ridge.

So if it pukes again in Banff I will take payment in Cuervo, in addition to the beer that is still outstanding from January. See you in 7-10 days depending on forecasts.

Lately snowforcast-com. has lost its way, maybe
ok so it's never predicted fernie correctly,
this year it tryed to, we've never seen 8,10 or 12 for fernie and this year we did.
ok so its never been accurate on wind either, a windy year in fernie, me thinks so, maybe
but over 1m for the lizard range this storm cycle is fact!
freezing levels have been hit and miss,
and now they are showing almost 24 hours old forcasts ???
clearly I haven't drinken e-nuff ...We, the RATBAGGERS, formally axcept our duty is to trigger avalaches on all skiers ...

I'm sorta glad that puke eased up.
other wise timber, deer and elk chair would NOT have loaded until lunch time.
I was wondering about having a sleep in, super lazy breakfast, get to the hill at lunch time for the first chair and slackcountry epicness!
lizard cedar and curry didnt open today, I'm betting on mundy 9am!
ok maybe a few small openingsWe, the RATBAGGERS, formally axcept our duty is to trigger avalaches on all skiers ...

Being that I don't ski Fernie normally, I gladly accept that particular nukage sacrifice. This is not a Golden, Banff sacrifice....trying to avoid that this time.
Sooooo, wot your saying is you'll be stuck up there for 14-20days ???
just like last time ???
Last time I was supposed to be 2 weeks but ended up around 25 days away.
I took night shift this time and the job I just got to will probably shut down in a few days...and even if there is a round of lows again, I can still catch the tail as i'm free next weekend or whenever after that if it's not snowing. They tried to send me to the Alberta / Territories border....not a fucking chance as any prospects of change outs up there is a long time coming plus 2 full days to get home. Fuck that.

Tryst lake was very very good on Saturday. Mostly thigh/waist deep, lots of time in white room. Top 25-30cm was reactive, with big deep shooting cracks and small soft slab releases. Only saw this in the last 2 chutes before the Fist.
Superslope had a thin suncrust, so we went back and did a couple more laps to the lake. Counted 9 cars at the side of the road... Busy place. Only a few lines left, and they're kinda obscure/creative.

Woooo, drought over, got down to Waterton for some turns finally! Leftovers from last week were nice, boot deep, more in the shade. Snow was running real fast. Went up towards Summit Lake. A couple of folks were kind enough to set in a decent up track yesterday, had it all to myself today. A glorious inversion and no wind. Sun was doing a pretty good job setting up a very punchy crusty layer though. Sorry no pictures, pulled a mntlion and forget to charge the camera battery.
