Revy was amazing Saturday. Closures from the previous two days kept a lot of the snow deep and completely untracked to start off. We were one of the first in North Bowl, then up the boot pack, and got to Greely Bowl before it had many tracks. Skied knee-to-thigh-deep powder all day. I don't think you could find a happier group of people than ski bums at Revelstoke Saturday.

Wow, it's been a while. Just a short update, sheltered North facing stuff is skiing VERY well right now. I just finished rampaging my way through most of the Door Chutes. The snow was soft and excellent.

Anyone been up around Kootenay Pass lately? Thinking of heading there tomorrow for a couple of days but am wary that options will be limited...

We were up at the pass yesterday with a friend, his first time touring, he rented a splitboard and stuff. Did 3 short laps and north facing is pretty good, a bit windpressed at some open spots, not super fluffy. Corn is ripe on sunny aspects if you time it right but the sun needs to come out. In lower elevation trees I think you need a really sheltered slope to find good snow. Waiting till next sunny day before going again.

Here's the butchered automatic mode photos :F

    soft:

    corn:

Edit: Any beta about the Wolf Peak/Lake cabin? I know there's one but not exactly where, only I've heard is that it's not easy to find(?). Who operates it and is it first come, first serve like Ripple Ridge cabin?

Looks like you found some decent skiing/riding. Was at Kimberly and Panorama with the family this weekend, makes me feel VERY fortunate to be living in Nelson. Looks like they have had a much worse season than on this side of the mountains.

Some photos from Evening Ridge taken in February.

Kimberley and Panorama are in major rain shadows, they get a fraction of the amount of precip as the west koots. That is the norm. They also get twice as much sunshine there as well. Not the place to live if you want to ski lift service pow all the time. Unless you do the drive to Fernie if you need a dose.

A few from today, from the big face off the hill again. Conditions were good, sluff management was pretty important, especially on a solar aspect at 11am. There's a size 1.5 debris pile at the bottom of the face to attest to that.

Looks like snow is being delivered as we speak.

Thank me for agreeing to work this weekend. The only time it snows is when I can't ski.

dear whoever made the Big Mountain Battle Video from Revy,
thanks. First it wasn't enough for your filming subject to push me out of the lift line. Then it wasn't enough to apologize to me. You instead put me entirely out of context in your little hollywood production, showing only me apologizing and insinuating that I had instigated the incident. Then you cut to the ref telling everyone to play nice. Thanks again!

And yes Silver Star was ridiculous! Don't think anyone expected that... Looks like lots of people skipped work heh.

yeah. no big deal, and I hope they're safe and successful in Aspen. I'm just calling bullshit after being pushed entirely out of a turnstile and then watching a movie that makes it look like I was the disrespectful party. I was referring to calling him an asshole really loud in the lift line when I said 'i was being a jerk'.

don't know why I feel like I'm flaming someone; they already flamed the shit out of me!

End rant; anyway enjoy the surprise snow(if it's still there!)

Arguably the best day of the season at RMR today. Tonnes of fresh, no crowds, and was even shown a part of the mountain I'd never skied before. No pictures because I was too busy skiing.

Yeah, today was good. I was dropping everything in sight, a few were bigger than I've hit all season. I hear the sun came out around 3, looks like it's snowing lightly right now.

One from the hill today, I'm not totally prejudiced against snowboarders I guess. Shot at RMR on a named run sometime around noon. Tracks? What tracks?

Currently raining reasonably hard in town, freezing levels well below the Stoke...
