Covert, the peso is 3.70 to the dollar. For most things, that more than makes up for the price increases throughtout the country, if you are lucky ebough to have dollars.
No passes for foreigners at all? LL management never ceases to amaze me.

so a 96 peso Las Lenas ticket is really only... $25!! wow its not expensive... for us! I'm doin it! August in Argentina... or maybe Chile/both. Top destination targets are currently:
Chile: Chillan, Portillo, Valle Nevado
Argentina: LL of course, Catedral, Chapelco, Cerro Bayo.
lodging cost will be the main factory unfortunately as this is a continued unemployment tour. Supporting the economy by not competing for the few jobs that exist. Doin my part!

LS, you will find things in ARG cheaper than Chile on most things. I don't think LL is 96 pesos a day tho.

Do you still get 50% off lift tickets if you stay in places at Marlague?

Chilean prices are gonna be similar to last year.
The cool thing for u guys is that your dollar right now is really strong.
That means that the daily pass for Portillo, Valle Nevado, Chillan, etc. Is gonna be around $50 (in the highest season) which means that in the slow season tickets are gonna be available for $40 or less.

I plan on spending the whole season in Chile/Argentina cruising in my truck chasing pow. Looking forward to riding with some of you. If anyone's coming from/through Denver and could bring some gear that would be huge. I could probably talk my friends into meeting you anywhere, at your convenience.
I posted in another thread, but it probably belongs more here....any info/recommendations about season passes at any non LL resorts (if it is indeed true gringos can't buy them)? Relative costs vs. day passes? Do I need to buy them in person in the pre-season?
Cheers from Argentina!

Catedral discount pass deal ended in January. La Hoya is really inexpensive. Not sure about Cerro Bayo.

And, I'm seeing frequent flyer availability much improved over last year... actual saver award tickets for 55K miles instead of the regular ones for 110K.
Glad I signed up for all those credit cards to score the miles last year! Hopefully I can get a free ticket.
