    Goode BC95 Fail

I was in the Tetons on day 1 of a planned 4 day traverse of the Teton Crest.

Was skiing downhill (heels locked) and my Dynafit toe piece ripped out of my Goode BC95 ski. Screws ripped right through the carbon fiber leaving big, loose holes.

Luckily, I was able to rig a make-shift repair using straps to keep the toe piece in place. Still, it ruined the trip, as we had to escape down Granite Canyon and end the trip 3 days early.

Contacted Goode a week ago. Still no response from them.

I was expecting more durability from a $1100 ski. I was expecting better customer service from Goode.

    Kai,

I remembered a post a while back you made about Goode skis. You seemed to really like them. I didn't like them and thought they were fragile and bit my tongue. Wish I had mentioned something then.

That fucking blows. Both on the durability front, and the no response in a week front.

BTW Kai, I like your website.

I liked them a lot up until the moment they failed.

I think that they need to incorporate a reinforced plate of some sort in the mounting area. The carbon fiber alone doesn't seem up to the job of keeping the screws in place.

You're lucky that's all that happened to you--seen multiple pairs snapped in front on the toepiece from moderate groomer skiing.

That would have been ugly. The trip out would have been pretty difficult on just one ski.
