One of the nicest people I have ever met, best day I've had in the backcountry was in direct result of Shane saying, "Damn you guys are getting the lines today." Don't even know what to say, a huge loss to everyone. RIP vibes to family and friends.

In any case, if you're ever really in this situation make sure you at least bargain in a couple of fluffers.

I still remember the first time I cooked him dinner, skied with him (he scared me shitless, but was still most encouraging), partied with him, all in the same weekend many many moons ago. I refused to give him cash to shave his balls at that party that weekend though. I didn't need to see that. Of course, he was a long haired dude on skinny skis who poached a bump comp at Vail naked after DQ'ing his first run which got him blacklisted from Vail kind of guy back then. But then again, I don't think he ever changed. FKNA!!!!!!!! The ski world will be a much less silly place without him. RIP.............ing pow somewhere else.
The older I get, the better I was.

Unbelievably sad and tragic. I never met or skied with Shane, yet he was always one of my heroes and seemed like one of the most genuine, enjoyable individuals around. Thoughts and prayers go out to his close friends and family. They no doubt need them right now.

Wow. This is awful. Aside from just being an all around champ guy, I can't even begin to think of the number of contributions he has made to the snowsports world. R.I.P. to the pioneer of exstream skiing.

Huckasoreass and OldTimer, I have to imagine that next to his family that you two were as close to Shane as anyone out there. I send you and his family my deepest condolences.
