I remember hanging out with Shane as a star struck 18 year old grom 12 years ago. The next winter he hooked my brother and I up with Chubbs back when fat skis were scoffed at and my skiing was never the same again. Words can't begin to describe what an inspiration and influence he's been.
Such a great guy who will be greatly missed.
RIP Shane.Last edited by PowderJ; 03-26-2009 at 03:49 PM.

Wow, the guy was instrumental in I'm sure many of our life choices to put ourselves into places where we could go ski regularly.
The man was a living legend in the ski community.

So sad. He was such a great influence on Powder J and I as 18 year old wannabe Extreme Skiers. He took the time to tell us stories, feed us red bull and entertain us to no end. Shane will be deeply missed.

Wow, my condolences to you and the rest of his friends and family. Without a doubt my favorite skier to watch. He always seemed like the kind of guy who just loved skiing, whether on a bunny hill somewhere or big mtns in Alaska. He just always seemed to be having fun.

Met him last year during a Chiney session, let him go first then I went. He gave my a high five, asked my name and said I looked good. This was the best moment of my skiing life, and it will be forever. This is terrible, he is the reason I am here at squaw and have been here for 8 years now. I feel sort of lost now. Deepest condolences for friends and faimly, skiing will never be the same again.
