selling a house right now isn't "really simple".... you fuckwits.

edit: and further: if you're retarded enough to see life as being so simple, bro, your advice isn't all that meaningful to me, let alone your requests. The gist of the whole thread is that this is a complicated place where you can love it and hate it simultaneously and finding some kind of balance is tricky.
Maybe that's too big of a thought for TGR lately...should I write it in sharpie on some redhead's tits for you?

Please do, and then share it in the A plea to Ullr thread.

    Thanks in advance!

I don't claim to know Yetiman, but we have mutual friends , I've skied with him & he seems like a good guy to me.For those of you that have little to go on except this thread, activate brain before engaging mouth!

The mountains are beautiful, the skiing is phenominal, & I have quite a few good friends there.I've met some really cool LDS people skiing & from the board .

That being said,Utah is the only place I've ever been where cops rousted me from my hotel room in the middle of the night with their cocked weapons pointed at my head. After keeping everyone in the lobby for several hours while they shook down the entire hotel with legions of DEA,cops, dogs & firefighters in hazmat uniforms, they said we could go back to our rooms with no apology.

I guess only pinko, socialist ,hippy, liberals detest such treatment.Since I'm none of the above I'm not sure why I have a problem with this. Wait a minute,... Oh Yeah,.. I f*cking loathe those that abuse power not to mention staring down the barrels of loaded weapons straight out of bed ain't the best part of waking up. LYF, you must have stock in KY jelly & like cavity searches.

To me,there's something strange & unnerving about the place that's out of sync with how cool the land is.I can't put more of a label on it than that.

I still want to get a vacation home there & always struggle with the notion of living there after I've visited.

you were there for some of the best skiing of the year last year. remember that run where we couldn't see anything and it didn't matter? I made like 5 pow turns with my eyes closed that run. suspended in white space, deep blower fluff in the fog with no trees on a perfectly even pitch, like skiing in some strange dream.

Unfortunately I remember those runs & magical days of skiing only to well.I jones for them more than I'd care to.I did have a similar day a couple of weeks ago with Tresckow,MD9 and company .

Yesterday when I heard others raving about how good a day it was at Vail when there was still a hard layer underneath on anything south facing,my mind instantly flashed back to those days.

Now we are back on track about why we live here, so dealing with the rest of the bs is easier when you have those moments to remember.

Btw, Bird comp tomorrow, K is skiing 12th in the early morning. Head up to cheer her on J, and the first dozen beers are on me. They will be Olys, but then again I am a cheap utard with no discerning taste for good beer due to living in Utah.

    Hang in there!

Just had to say, the 17th when we were riding together has been permanently etched into my mind as the best day of the year for me. Or it was the cookies, but I am pretty sure it had more to do with the snow and company that day.

Yesterday gave me that feeling as well, as I closed my eyes down riding down the face. It was wide, open, all pow and couldn't see a thing. Like a really good dream in July, but it was real. I wouldn't trade living here for days like those.

If you could somehow put Burlington at the foot of LCC/BCC or visa versa, I think you'd have the most perfect city on the planet. Very helpful, I know.

it's unbelievable how many people still feel the need to prove that one is better than the other. which is pretty hard because both states are essentially part of one region of the world-- the american west. they both drain into the same watersheds and political boundaries mean nothing--- good luck finding the utah/CO border anywhere but on i-70.

in other words, STFU and get over your own insecurity. it all kicks ass and living in either state would be far superior to living anywhere east of the great plains.

    a) Lonestar- sorry we never met up at the GMD...i never made it past 10 pm....the skiing was too damn good.
    b) Living out east is way better than people make it out to be. Yes the skiing isn't as good (though it is way underrated) but when it comes to any other activity the east can match the west.

One complaint I've heard a lot, and I can relate to after spending four months in CO. one time, is that people get real tired of living in a brown place. I came back too a wet late Spring in CT., and I had to agree with them. There's no friggin water out there.

I seriously considered moving to UT for awhile because of the obviously superior skiing, but I can't get past the fact that there is just no kayaking.

    I love the northwest.

Otherwise, though, this thread is some high quality entertainment.

i think lame-o billboards are everywhere nowadays.

I spotted this in clarksdale, mississippi while on a blues roadtrip:

the ones that are big in california right now are the "don't shake your baby" ones, advocating "dontshakeyourbaby.com"....no, really??? thanks for letting me know!
