That is fucked-up.
Nothing to add except that LT to Marcus Daly hospital has got to be 30+ miles - a LONG ambulance ride. Why must I feel like that, why must I chase the cat?

Man at least he went out doing something he loved. A severed coronary I mean what are the odds.
RIPSo after falling asleep while watching the latest ski movies I dream't of dropping in on some of the steepest slopes coved in the deepest and lightest powder I have never found in my life. I awoke on my couch covered in sweat and my hart racing at what must have been at least 120 bpm. I LOVE THIS SHIT!

That is very unfortunate. RIP.
A good friend of mine actually did something similar, high speed groomer crash into a knoll/rollover or something, but the impact partially tore his aorta. Apparently somewhat common in high-speed impacts like car crashes, etc...
No major apparent damage other than shoulder injury but after being downloaded to the medic station at the bottom of the hill his vitals took a nose dive. After like a 30-45 min transport to the ER, the ER doc figured it out and rushed him into emergency surgery. Said ~75% of people with a torn aorta don't make it and he probably had only another 10-15 minutes before he would have bled out internally. Needless to say he was out for the rest of the season recovering, but super lucky to be alive.
