    06-07 4frnt MSP Review

    I wrote out a lengthy review last night only to have it not post for some reason. That pissed me off, so here's a short version.

    Me = 5'7" 165
    Skis = 187cm mounted 2.5cm back w/ Axial 140s
    Conditions:
    1) 8-10" of windblown Mammoth pow on open slopes
    2) Knee deep Mammoth pow in trees

    Bottom line:
    They are the tits
    They are not too long
    They float great
    They smear great
    They rail great
    They are very easy to turn in tight trees (off of 22)
    They don't hook or dive on big, high-speed turns on the windblown (off of the top)

    Post up other questions if you have 'em.

    Where did you end up mounting them?

    thanks for the review. How is the tail kick? Full old Gotama, or mild bro? You mentioned the 187 is not too long, do you think it skis short for a 187? I think I am somewhere between the 181 and 187. The dimensions on this ski seem sweet for me... 5mm less than every dim on the older Karhu Jak, and probably a little stiffer. Yummy.

    I mounted them 2.5 cm back of the line.

    The tail kick seems pretty equal to the tip. It doesn't look like quite as much as the old Gotamas, but that may be because of the width. Definitely more tail kick than the Bros.

    It didn't feel like they ski short. It just felt that because they're twin tips, the running surface is less than other similar length skis. If you're in doubt about the length, I would go up rather than down.

    God damn I loved the MSP when I rode them a couple years ago. They had the red topsheet and were still made in California. Almost had the chance to snatch up a demo pair but didn't and I have been kicking myself ever since.

    I was just curious to the flex when I rode them they were buttery soft but not a total noodle. I've heard it's changed in years since but how much ?

    Oh yeah the have by far the best topsheet this year beautiful.

    Flex is fairly stiff under foot, a little bit softer tip and tail. Definitely softer than Pow Pluses and Tankers, but that's kind of a no brainer. They are stiffer than my old 179 Bros, but I think the newer 179s are stiffer than mine were. So I guess "stiff, but not super stiff."
