i just took the plates off my S&C M:ex to see about mounting Freerides and I don't think it will work to screw them directly to the ski.

Apart from the issue mntlion mentioned of the heel piece...

my experience has been that if (i mean when) you buy something from S&C, their software somehow deactivates you from receiving the daily e-mail.

so you have to go back and sign up for the daily...

on a related note - has anybody tried similarly removing the plate from the Metron M:ex? or mounting a lighter binding like a freeride on the plate?
